Musician

Well known  both locally and nationally in  world /folk /roots  circles as a  multi instrumentalist  specializing in  the  Kora (African Harp-lute) and  Mbira (African thumb piano)

Background-I studied piano from the age of 9 under the late  Eileen Johnson, reaching A.MUS.A standard and winning prizes in numerous Eisteddford programs.I  also studied  classical flute for a number of years whilst in  school years.

Played as a session keyboard player in Melbourne in the 80′s developing an interest in African music  to which then in  the 90′s went on   numerous music study trips overseas  A fascination  with  musical instruments from around the globe ,my collection has been  featured on “ABC Collectors” program .

Performed and recorded with  artists and ensembles – Sirocco,  King Marong,Afro Mandinko , Joe Malachi , Ajak Kwai ,Fabio Chivhanda, Zulya , Andy Rigby , The Hottentots.

I play many styles of piano these days , mainly for recreation.
